Across the unimaginable vastness of our galaxy, a myriad worlds turn in their endless dance. Somewhere in this celestial tangle of matter and energy, an infinitestimal speck upon an infinitestimal speck, you sit in the shuddering dropship as it shoulders its way through the atmosphere of a pretty blue planet, praying and sweating and trying to shut out the acrid stench of urine and vomit that enshrouds the confines of the dark, hot spacecraft.
The League are dug in hard here. they say five platoons have already wiped out trying to establish the secondary LZ, and the guys from the first arent going anywhere soon. Against the whine of the engines and the deep grating of the grav brakes another sound begins to filter through, the muffled pop of anti-air fire, the occasional deeper boom as another thirty two lives are smashed out of the sky.
An aeon passes. The alarms sound, the motion of the ship changes, you feel the pop as the shields go down and the atmosphere equalises.
You grip your rifle.
Planetstorm is an assault-based FPS mod for Unreal Tournament 3, played out in 2 theaters, Space and Ground. Featuring blistering firefights in all kinds of Ground locations as well as first-person command of vast capital ships and fighters in the space theater.
A full line-up of vehicles for each ground army complement the huge fleets available in space, with ships as fully working vehicles controlled from consoles in their first-person interiors.
The planetstorm team hope to bring you many small innovations in the first person combat model, and the current release includes different classes of combat suit, a detailed loadout system, placeable turrets, suit boost items etc.
