I'd like to thank you guys for making the pre-alpha release of PS such a success. we had over 3k downloads by christmas so obviously we're not underestimating the need for a truly awesome fleet combat game on the UT3 engine.
We made the finals in 4 Phase 2 categories (Best Mod, Best Physics, Best Vehicles and Best Somethingelseiforgot) in the MSUC which brought us a lot of great publicity. we're now working our nuts off in order to truly shine in phase 3.
Also we'd like to thank you for nominating us in the moddb Mod Of The Year awards 2008 in Best Upcoming UT3 mods. as you can see we made the top 100 so we're really pleased!
This month i have experienced some awesome things. and i am not making any of this up, its all real and functional in test environments:
- I have played with our tweaked weapon set with its new recoil system which is total joy to fight with,
- I have wandered around our new ship internals LOOKING OUT OF THE WINDOWS at the battle outside.
- I have performed burnouts and donuts with our much-more aggressively configured wheeled vehicles
- I have watched in delight as individual missiles on gunship wing pylons dissapear as you fire them off :)
- I have watched from a fighter as a bot-piloted dragoon dropship clamps onto the hull of a khamun frigate, enabling the players inside to breach her hull and board her amidships
- i have seen a few entirely bot-v-bot games in which the tweaked AI makes them much more cautious, croushing to fire and hanging behind cover.
- i have been out of breath from carrying too many guns as our loadout system is properly tweaked
- i have flown a mile long battleship :)
It is my fond hope that all of these features will make it into phase 3 in a fully implemented fashion. we will try.
